11月1日上午10点在力一楼239会议室,南方科技大学讲席教授刘轶军应邀为工程科学学院师生做题为“A Review of the Boundary Element Method and Modeling of Acoustic Wave Problems”的学术报告。报告会由近代力学系陈海波教授主持。
在报告会上,刘轶军教授首先回顾了边界元法的发展历史。然后介绍了边界元法求解声波问题的研究进展。近四十年来,声边界元的研究克服了许多障碍,是一种精确有效的数值模拟方法。紧接着讨论了burton和miller开创的双边界积分方程(bie)格式、bie中奇异积分的处理、离散化的考虑以及求解边界元方程的快速求解方法。最后讨论了声边界元研究的新方向,并举例说明了声边界元在模拟气动声学、声学超材料、生物声学和计算机动画中的声音渲染等方面的潜力。报告结束后,参会师生踊跃提问,刘轶军教授详细地做了解答。大家就边界元方法和振动噪声问题展开了激烈的讨论。
Professor Yijun Liu received his PhD degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1992. He was on the faculty of the University of Cincinnati (UC) in Mechanical Engineering during 1996-2018. His research interests are in computational mechanics, with a focus on the boundary element method (BEM) and its fast solution methods, modeling of composites, fractures, and acoustic and elastic waves using the BEM. He has authored/co-authored three books and more than 100 papers. His book Fast Multipole Boundary Element Method published by Cambridge University Press is well received by the research community. He is on the editorial board of the journal Engineering Analysis with Boundary Elements and journal Computers & Structures. He received the Du Qinghua Medal for Computational Methods in Engineering (2012), and the Distinguished Engineering Researcher Award from the UC (2013). Dr. Liu was selected by The Recruitment Program of Global Experts of China in 2011. He joined the Mechanics and Aerospace Engineering Department of SUSTech in 2018. Dr. Liu is a Fellow of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers).
